GoHighLevel or Zoho CRM: the short answer

Zoho CRM is the cheaper choice for a small sales team that mainly needs a contact database and pipeline, and GoHighLevel is the better choice when the job is answering calls and texts from leads in one shared inbox.

Zoho CRM has a Free edition for 3 users. Its Standard edition is $14 per user per month billed annually, or $20 billed monthly, as read on 3 October 2026. GoHighLevel has no free plan. Starter is $97 per month, or $970 per year, with unlimited users and contacts. This page compares Zoho CRM only, not the wider Zoho One bundle.

When the per-user math favors Zoho, and when it favors GoHighLevel

On subscription price alone, Zoho Standard billed annually stays cheaper than GoHighLevel Starter until a team reaches seven users, when it costs $98 a month. On monthly billing the crossover comes at five users, at $100. Zoho Professional billed annually passes $97 at five users, at $115.

The subscription is not the whole bill on either side. GoHighLevel charges separately for usage: a local number is $1.15 per month, a US text is $0.00747 per segment and outbound calls are $0.0166 per minute. Zoho's telephony row lists outside providers, and its own note says integrations can need paid licences from both Zoho CRM and the integrated software. A fuller picture of GoHighLevel's extras is on the cost page.

What each one has that the other lacks

GoHighLevel only: a native phone system with a one-checkbox Missed Call Text Back setting, plus funnels, calendars, a browser dialer and review requests in the same subscription. An agency also gets three client sub-accounts on Starter. The pages read for Zoho CRM show no built-in number rental or missed-call text.

Zoho CRM only: a permanent free edition, and structured sales controls that scale by edition. Its comparison table lists sales forecasting from Standard, scoring rules from Standard, assignment rules and Blueprints from Professional, and custom modules and approval processes from Enterprise. GoHighLevel's public pages do not describe forecasting or approval processes.

Who should choose which

  • Choose Zoho CRM Free if you are up to three people and want to stop tracking leads in a spreadsheet at no cost.
  • Choose Zoho CRM Standard or Professional if you are a small sales team that already has a phone system and wants forecasting and assignment rules.
  • Choose GoHighLevel if leads reach you by phone, text, web chat and forms, more than five people need access, and missed calls are costing you work. The missed call text back guide shows what that feature does.
  • Choose Salesforce instead if you need a large app marketplace. See GoHighLevel vs Salesforce.

Moving contacts from Zoho CRM to GoHighLevel

Zoho CRM exports each module to CSV. Its help article says one export can hold up to 200,000 records in CSV, the download link lasts seven days, and the user needs the Export permission for that module. The Free edition allows 10 exports a day and Standard allows 100.

GoHighLevel then imports the CSV from Contacts, or from Opportunities for deals. Only admins can import, the file should be under 30MB, and each row needs a name, email or phone. Rows that match an existing email or phone are merged. Workflow rules, Blueprints and reports do not carry over and must be rebuilt as GoHighLevel workflows and pipelines.
