Is GoHighLevel a CRM? Yes, and what its contact and pipeline tools cover

Last materially reviewed 2026-10-03

Quick answerYes. GoHighLevel includes a CRM with contacts, pipelines and opportunities on every plan from $97 a month, with unlimited contacts and users. It is a CRM plus marketing and phone tools, not a CRM alone.

Yes, GoHighLevel is a CRM, with more attached

Yes, GoHighLevel is a CRM: it stores contacts, tracks deals through pipelines and records conversations, and those tools are on every plan starting with Starter at $97 per month, as read on 3 October 2026.

It is also more than a CRM. HighLevel's homepage lists CRM as one feature among many, next to funnels, calendars, a phone system, automation and invoicing, and describes the whole product as a business operating system. So the fair answer is that you are buying a CRM plus the tools that feed it and act on it. The plain explanation of what HighLevel is covers the wider product.

Which plan includes the CRM

CRM availability by GoHighLevel plan, as read on 3 October 2026
PlanPriceContacts and usersSub-accounts
Starter$97 per month or $970 per yearUnlimited contacts, unlimited users3
Unlimited$297 per month or $2,970 per yearUnlimited contacts, unlimited usersUnlimited
Agency Pro$497 per month or $4,970 per yearUnlimited contacts, unlimited usersUnlimited, with SaaS Mode

A single business needs only Starter for the CRM. The pricing page says the main difference between Starter and Unlimited is the number of sub-accounts, which matters to agencies managing separate clients. There is no per-seat charge on any plan, and no free plan. The trial is 14 days.

How contacts, pipelines and opportunities work

HighLevel's help center defines the pieces like this. A contact is the person. A pipeline is a visual track of your sales process. A stage is one step in it, with opportunities moving left to right. An opportunity is one potential deal, tied to a contact, which can be marked won or lost.

  1. Add contacts. Create them by hand or import a CSV from the Contacts tab. Only admins can import, the file should be under 30MB, and each row needs a name, email or phone. Rows matching an existing email or phone are merged.
  2. Create a pipeline. Go to Opportunities, click Pipelines, then Create New Pipeline. Name it, add stages and save.
  3. Add opportunities. In Opportunities, click Add opportunity, pick or create the contact, and set the pipeline, stage and value. Opportunities can also be imported by CSV.
  4. Move deals. Opportunities move from stage to stage as the sale progresses, then are marked won or lost.

Contacts can also be grouped with Smart Lists, and you can create a Smart List or apply tags as part of an import.

A worked example with real numbers

A roofing company with six office and sales staff puts everyone on one Starter account for $97. With a per-user CRM at $25 per user, six seats would be $150; at $14 per user billed annually, $84. So GoHighLevel is not automatically cheaper as a CRM alone. It is cheaper when you also want the phone and follow-up tools that per-user CRMs sell separately or not at all.

The company imports 2,400 past customers in one CSV, builds a pipeline with the stages New Lead, Inspection Booked, Quote Sent and Closed, and adds an opportunity for each new inquiry. Calls and texts with each contact are logged against the record, at $0.00747 per text segment and $0.0166 per outbound minute in the US.

Limits of GoHighLevel as a CRM

  • Usage is extra. The CRM is in the plan, but every text, call minute and email sent from it is billed separately.
  • Imports are admin-only and capped at 30MB per file. Larger lists must be split.
  • No free tier. HubSpot is free for up to 2 users and 1,000 contacts, and Zoho CRM is free for 3 users.
  • Sales forecasting is not described on the public pages read. Salesforce lists both on Pro Suite and Zoho CRM lists forecasting from Standard.
  • Not HIPAA compliant by default. Storing patient details needs the $297 per month add-on.
  • Published limits are thin. The help articles read give no maximum number of pipelines or stages.

When to use a simpler CRM instead

If you only need a list of contacts and a deal board, GoHighLevel is more than you need. One to three people can use Zoho CRM Free or HubSpot's free tools and pay nothing; the HubSpot comparison and the Zoho comparison go through the trade-offs.

GoHighLevel earns its price when the CRM has to act: texting back a missed caller, chasing a quote, alerting staff and asking for a review. If that is your reason for looking, start with the feature list by job. Prices were read on 3 October 2026 and can change.
