How much does missed call text back cost? The four charges and a worked monthly total

Last materially reviewed 2026-10-03

Quick answerExpect about $30 a month on Quo, or about $100 a month on GoHighLevel for 60 missed calls, plus a one-time US registration fee of $19.50 to $22.50.

What missed call text back costs per month

Missed call text back costs between about $30 and $100 a month for a small US business, and almost all of that is the software subscription, not the texts. On Quo, a single user pays $28 a month, or $15 billed annually, plus a $1.50 to $3 messaging fee. On GoHighLevel, the Starter plan is $97 a month and 60 missed-call texts add roughly $3.40 in number rental, registration and message charges.

All figures on this page were read on 3 October 2026 on the vendors' own pricing and help pages, and can change. No vendor read for this page charges a separate fee for the feature itself.

Phone numberLocal $1.15 a month; toll-free $2.15 a monthOne number per user included; extra numbers $5 a month each

One-time US registration$22.50 (Sole Proprietor or Low Volume Standard); $64.00 (High Volume Standard)$19.50
Monthly registration fee$1.50 to $10.00 by campaign type$1.50 to $3.00

GoHighLevel states that the registration and carrier charges are passed through from The Campaign Registry, Twilio and the mobile carriers without markup. Two of its help articles give slightly different monthly campaign figures: one lists $2.00 for a sole proprietor and $10.00 for a standard campaign, the other says up to $2.10 and up to $10.50. Budget for the higher number.

A worked monthly calculation for 60 missed calls

This is the missed call text back calculator in its simplest form: fixed costs plus missed calls multiplied by the per-text rate. The example is a GoHighLevel Starter account with one local number, a Low Volume Standard brand, a Low Volume Mixed campaign and 60 missed calls a month, each answered with a one-segment text.

Worked example: GoHighLevel, 60 missed calls a month, prices as read on 3 October 2026
LineCalculationAmount
SubscriptionStarter, flat$97.00
Phone number1 local number x $1.15$1.15
Campaign feeLow Volume Mixed$1.50
Text messages60 x $0.00747$0.45
Carrier fees60 x $0.0050 (Verizon rate, the highest of the three)$0.30
Monthly total$100.40
One-time registrationBrand, campaign vetting and fast track$22.50

To adapt it, replace 60 with your own missed-call count. At 300 missed calls the text and carrier lines become $2.24 and $1.50, and the total is $103.39. Volume barely moves the bill. The cost worksheet lets you add calls, emails and other usage.

Charges the simple calculation leaves out

  • Replies. GoHighLevel bills inbound texts at $0.00747 per segment as well, and carriers add an inbound fee on some networks.
  • Call minutes. Answered inbound calls cost $0.01165 a minute on a local number.
  • Long messages. Pricing is per segment, so a long text can count as two or more.
  • Extra campaigns. A second campaign under the same brand costs $15.00 in vetting, plus its own monthly fee.
  • Minimum seats elsewhere. JustCall's Team plan is $29 per user a month billed annually with a two-user minimum, so the floor is $58 a month.
  • Add-on pricing. Jobber's AI Receptionist is $29 a month on top of a Jobber plan.

Fees also continue after you stop. GoHighLevel keeps charging for numbers for 14 days after cancellation, and its fees are non-refundable. See the full GoHighLevel cost breakdown.

When paying $97 instead of $28 is justified

The cheaper tool is enough when the only goal is a number that texts back and a place to read replies. Quo also limits auto-replies to one per contact every three hours at no extra cost, which GoHighLevel's basic feature does not do.

The higher price is justified when the missed call should create a CRM contact, open a pipeline record, notify staff or start a follow-up sequence, and when several people need access. GoHighLevel does not charge per user, so a team of five pays $97, while five Quo users pay $140 on monthly billing.
