GoHighLevel vs Salesforce: flat price with built-in texting, or a per-user CRM that scales

Last materially reviewed 2026-10-03

Quick answerGoHighLevel costs $97 a month flat with unlimited users and built-in call and text tools. Salesforce Starter Suite costs $25 per user and is the stronger pure CRM. Small lead-response teams usually fit GoHighLevel.

GoHighLevel or Salesforce for a small business

GoHighLevel is the better fit if your main job is answering and following up leads by phone and text, and Salesforce is the better fit if you need a sales CRM that can be customized deeply as the company grows.

The pricing models are opposite. GoHighLevel's Starter plan is $97 per month with unlimited users and contacts, as read on 3 October 2026. Salesforce Starter Suite starts at $25 per user per month, billed monthly or annually. Pro Suite starts at $100 per user per month, billed annually with a contract. Salesforce's page adds that transaction fees apply, without listing them there.

At one or two users Salesforce Starter Suite is cheaper: $25 or $50 a month against $97. At four users the two are level at about $100. At ten users Salesforce Starter Suite is $250 a month and Pro Suite $1,000, while GoHighLevel stays at $97 plus usage.

What GoHighLevel does that Salesforce Starter Suite does not

GoHighLevel includes a phone system inside the subscription. You rent a local number for $1.15 per month, and the built-in Missed Call Text Back setting sends a text to anyone whose call rings out. Each text is billed as a normal SMS segment. A business that misses 150 calls a month would pay about $1.12 in text charges for those replies at the US rate.

It also bundles funnels, forms, calendars, a browser dialer and review requests into the same plan, and agencies can run three client sub-accounts on Starter. Salesforce's small business pricing page does not show an equivalent built-in missed-call text. That is an absence on the page read, not proof that no Salesforce product does it. How the setting works is explained on the missed call text back explainer.

What Salesforce does that GoHighLevel does not

Salesforce is a deeper sales and service CRM. Starter Suite already lists lead, account, contact and opportunity management, lead routing, email campaigns with segmentation, case management and a knowledge base. Pro Suite adds quote creation, sales forecast management, custom apps and objects, process automation with Flows, a sandbox for testing and AppExchange access for pre-integrated apps.

GoHighLevel's public pages list estimates and proposals but do not describe sales forecasting, a testing sandbox or a case management desk. If your sales team needs forecasts by rep, Salesforce is built for that and GoHighLevel is not positioned for it. HighLevel does list Custom Objects, which its real estate page uses for properties and transactions. The two can also be connected, which the Salesforce integration page covers.

Who each one suits

  • Pick GoHighLevel if you are a local service business or agency with several staff sharing one inbox, and missed calls and slow replies are the problem you are solving.
  • Pick Salesforce Starter Suite if you are one to three salespeople who mainly need a clean pipeline and email, and expect to add quoting or custom objects later.
  • Pick Salesforce Pro Suite if you already know you need forecasting, Flows or AppExchange apps and can commit to an annual contract.
  • Pick neither if you only need a free contact list. Zoho CRM is free for three users and is compared on the GoHighLevel vs Zoho page.

What switching from Salesforce to GoHighLevel involves

Salesforce's Data Export Service produces a zip of CSV files and emails a download link. Per Salesforce's Trailhead guide, manual exports are allowed every 7 days on Enterprise, Performance and Unlimited editions and every 29 days on Professional. The guide does not state the interval for Starter Suite or Pro Suite, so check your own Setup menu.

GoHighLevel imports contacts and opportunities from CSV. Its help article says only admin users can import, the file should be under 30MB, and each row needs a name, email or phone. Records that match an existing email or phone are merged. Custom objects, Flows and reports do not transfer; pipelines, stages and automations have to be rebuilt by hand. Going the other way, GoHighLevel keeps a canceled account's data for 90 days. Prices were read on 3 October 2026 and can change.
