GoHighLevel Shopify integration: what syncs, workflow triggers and limits

Last materially reviewed 2026-10-03

Quick answerYes. GoHighLevel has a built-in Shopify integration under Settings then Integrations. It syncs customers, orders, products and abandoned checkouts and adds workflow triggers for orders, payments and abandoned checkouts.

GoHighLevel connects to a Shopify store natively

GoHighLevel has a built-in Shopify integration, set up in a sub-account under Settings then Integrations then Shopify. It links one Shopify store to that sub-account through Shopify's OAuth approval screen, so there is no custom app to build and no Zapier step. The help article was last updated on 30 September 2026.

The purpose is follow-up, not storefront management. Store data arrives in HighLevel so that workflows can send email and SMS when someone orders, pays or abandons a checkout.

What syncs from Shopify into HighLevel

Shopify data synced per HighLevel's help article, read on 3 October 2026
Shopify dataWhat HighLevel does with it
CustomersCreated as contacts with extra Shopify fields
Orders and transactionsSynced and usable as workflow triggers
Products and collectionsSynced into the sub-account
Abandoned checkoutsPassed as events that can start a workflow

Synced contacts get Shopify fields filled in automatically: Shopify Lifetime Value, order count, first and last order dates, tax-exempt status and customer tags. These can drive segments, for example a win-back message to customers whose last order is old.

Setup steps in order

  1. In the sub-account open Settings, then Integrations, then Shopify.
  2. Enter the store URL or store name.
  3. Choose the import elements. This is the historical data to bring in once.
  4. Choose the sync settings. This is the data to keep updating from now on.
  5. Approve the connection on Shopify's authorization screen.
  6. Finish the installation and wait for the import to complete.

Think about step 3 before you click. The article warns that data already imported may remain in HighLevel even if you change the sync settings later.

Workflow triggers: orders, payments and abandoned checkouts

The integration article names three triggers: Order Received, Payment Received and Abandoned Checkout. For cart recovery HighLevel now points users to its unified Abandoned Checkout trigger and says the older Shopify Abandoned Cart trigger is being retired.

The unified trigger fires when a shopper adds items, gives a valid email and does not pay within a window you set in minutes. Its filters are duration, cart value, country, specific products, order source and sub-source, where Shopify is the external option. A worked example: set the duration to 30 minutes and cart value to greater than 50. A shopper who leaves a $60 checkout unpaid for half an hour enters the workflow, which can send a reminder email and then an SMS. The older Shopify trigger filtered only on duration and cart value.

SMS sent by these workflows is billed as normal usage. The HighLevel cost page lists the per-segment rate.

Documented limits and what to check after connecting

  • Draft orders do not sync.
  • Refunds do not reduce the order count on the contact.
  • Shopify Lifetime Value counts Shopify purchases only, not payments taken elsewhere in HighLevel.
  • Shopify Basic stores may be limited. The article says some data types depend on Shopify API access.
  • No valid email, no abandoned-checkout trigger. Anonymous carts cannot be followed up.

After connecting, place a test order and confirm the contact, the order and the Shopify fields appear. Then abandon a test checkout with a real email and confirm the workflow starts after the duration you set. The article does not name a HighLevel plan requirement.

Who it suits and who gains little

The connection suits a Shopify store that wants SMS and email follow-up, a contact record with order history and a pipeline for wholesale or high-value inquiries in one place. GoHighLevel for ecommerce stores works through the plan and costs for that case.

A store that wants no CRM, no SMS and no sales pipeline gains little from adding a platform that starts at $97 per month. The GoHighLevel alternatives page names lighter options, and the integrations overview shows how the accounting tools connect.
