GoHighLevel WordPress integration: the LeadConnector plugin, setup and limits

Last materially reviewed 2026-10-03

Quick answerYes. GoHighLevel connects to WordPress through its official LeadConnector plugin, which adds the chat widget, forms, calendars, funnel pages and custom values to a WordPress site.

The LeadConnector plugin is the official WordPress connection

GoHighLevel integrates with WordPress through its own plugin, LeadConnector, listed in the WordPress.org plugin directory. It puts HighLevel's lead-capture tools on a WordPress site and sends what they collect to the sub-account you connect. If the site runs on HighLevel's own WordPress hosting, the plugin is installed and configured automatically. On any other host you install it yourself.

The help article names no HighLevel plan requirement and no charge for the plugin. The paid part is HighLevel's optional WordPress hosting, covered below.

What the plugin adds to a WordPress site

  • Chat widget: the HighLevel chat widget on your pages, with conversations routed into the CRM.
  • Forms, surveys, quizzes and calendars: embedded with blocks or shortcodes.
  • Funnel pages: HighLevel funnel steps published as WordPress pages on your own domain. The listing names three display methods: iframe, redirect or native HTML.
  • Custom values: shortcodes that pull values stored in HighLevel, such as a phone number or address, into WordPress content.
  • Email and extras: the WordPress.org listing also names sending WordPress email through LeadConnector SMTP, review widgets, phone pools and compatibility with Elementor and other page builders.

Install steps on a site hosted outside HighLevel

  1. In the WordPress dashboard open Plugins, then Add New.
  2. Search for LeadConnector.
  3. Click Install Now, then Activate.
  4. Open the plugin and connect it to your HighLevel account. The help article describes the link as an API key from the sub-account.
  5. Switch on the chat widget, or add a form or calendar to a page with a block or shortcode.

Before step 4, decide which sub-account the site belongs to. The plugin is tied to that one location. The guide to setting up a HighLevel sub-account covers the forms and calendars you will embed.

HighLevel WordPress hosting and its price

HighLevel also sells managed WordPress hosting as an add-on to the main subscription. The help article lists free SSL, a Cloudflare CDN, daily backups with one-click restore and unmetered bandwidth on every tier.

HighLevel WordPress hosting plans, as read on 3 October 2026
PlanSitesMonthlyAnnual billing
Standard1$10 per month$9 per month
Utility25$220 per month$208 per month
UnlimitedUnlimited$497 per month$414 per month

These prices sit on top of the HighLevel plan. The article's own example is Starter at $97 plus Standard hosting at $10, which makes $107 per month. The HighLevel cost page lists the other charges that apply.

Known limits and what to check after connecting

  • Caching hides the chat widget. The help article says a missing widget is almost always a caching issue. Clear the caching plugin, the server cache and the browser cache.
  • A regenerated API key disconnects the site. Paste the new key into the plugin settings.
  • Blank custom values. Check that the value has data in HighLevel and that the shortcode uses the exact key name without curly brackets.
  • Low directory rating. The listing showed 2.3 out of 5, from only 12 ratings.

After setup, submit a test form and a test chat message from the live site and confirm both appear against a contact in the right sub-account. Then book a test appointment through an embedded calendar.

Who should use the plugin and who should not

The plugin suits a business that already has a WordPress site it wants to keep and wants inquiries to land in HighLevel for follow-up. It also suits agencies that build client sites in WordPress and run automation in HighLevel.

A business with no site yet does not need WordPress at all. HighLevel has its own website and funnel builder, listed among the features included in every plan. A WordPress site that only needs a contact form emailed to one inbox does not need HighLevel. Any WordPress form plugin does that job.
